how about buying a footer link on a free template? (ie, wordpress theme)

I got an offers for backlinks from footer of SEO company. He have about more than 15 websites and about all websites have PR1. He is offering me $250.00 to place our site links in his all websites footer area for 6 months.

One of my websites is also related to online marketing and SEO so what is your suggestion. Should we buy this offers or its a bit costly?

You can sell the link spot on your site. But not good option to buy link space on other sites. The main reason is the fraudsters. There are many frauds in web looking always to make money by cheating others. There is no guarantee that your link will stay on other sites for 6 months. Also putting your links on sites which have less PR than your site won't help much. Better to put pages with higher PR. I would suggest you to put that money on ad campaigns because that will give you genuine traffic.

All link would be thematic or just links from high PR sites only because as i know backlinks from other theme sites will not help us.
