HOW TO EDIT & INTEGRATE THE TEMPLATES???

Hey friends,after struggling for 3months for adding my site to search engines,i think,now its time to get a nice template only. Or else i've no more option to have a well formed page for my site. So,i download some nice templates for my site now. But i dont know,how to edit,where to edit n all. Can anyone say me just briefly,from where to start? What is this PSD file and all? Its too big file. I'm puzzled as well as stumped too. Need help now.

The psd file is the source file of the images in the template. It contains all the data information for the pictures, datas like layers and effects. You can open it with Photoshop.
For the rest of the template... it depends. If it's a html template I suggest you use Dreamweaver. If it's a Flash template... well... simply use Macromedia Flash to edit it
I don't know if I was much help to you but I need to know more about your template in order to tell you how to edit it.

Oh still my doubt is not clear. I've no pc. I have to do everything with my mobile. I can edit anything,but 1st i need knowledge na,what to edit. I cant edit da psd file but. Is there any modifications to be done in that file? N ya its a html template. Just check out the thread of Iven in Premium Templates sub forum. The title of da thread is Mobile based Templates or something like that. Hope,u can help me now. Waiting.

Well, unless you can install Photoshop on your mobile phone you can't edit the .psd file. That file contains the source for the images in your template.
For example, a picture with a nice flashy text and logo is made by several layers with different images.By opening the psd file you can edit just a part of the template and not the whole picture.
For editing the .html files it would have been better if you had Dreaweaver installed on your phone but I guess you can edit the source code. I suppose you know some basic html, right?
What exactly do you want to edit to that template?

Ha ha,how funny! Wen i'm already in a webmasters forum means,its obvious dat,i must be having a good knowledge in html n its editing. Anyways! Bro,i've selected another template now,which doesnt have any such psd file. It has just css,index and images. Thats it. I can easily edit the index's source code too. Just edited it n u can check that.

But one main thing i cant understand is how to place edit those images n put our menu item names. Do we have to create similar icons or buttons with our wished names,etc? Is it so?

That can be done with .psd files. Templates without .psd files are not real web templates. The template with .psd packages from here also includes web pages with simple images and html coded pages. But the .psd files give you the optin to edit the template with your text and tastes.

But can we also edit the TEXT ON IMAGES of the respective Template? If its yes,den its really mindblowing. I'll goto my friend's laptop n do it. But is it possible or not,1st say dat? I mean,if on the template image,there is a menu item, CONTACT US,but I want to change da text on dat yellow image template to PC APPLICATIONS,so can it be directly done via that psd file? Yes.. You can do every thing on the images with the help of .psd files. Every kids using web sites knows about photoshop and .psd files. Just open the .psd files on photoshop and change the images as you want with the tools available on the software. Then save the file for web after editing it....

The latest versions are better. .psd or .html works with every versions of photoshop and dreamweaver respectively.
