RE: Is google going to remove pagerank?
I can see some experimental features with Google. But on there, I can't find any thing that is capable of replacing the Page Rank technique. Page Rank is mainly used for sorting the results. They are periodically changing the algorithm for that. I still believe that the technique is very effective and similar techniques are now using by the other search engines.

RE: Is google going to remove pagerank?
I don't know what to say...
I heard that they are going to implement something like digg or stumble-upon. Or a similar system, that will allow the sites to be ranked according not to the number of bookmarks but to the number of ... "yes" and "no"'s I guess... Because, as I heard, they want to add some new buttons, one like "thumbs up" for the site and the other like "thumbs down".

RE: Is google going to remove pagerank?
That's what I heard too, that there is going to be no more PageRank from Google. I don't know what Google is up to. I don't know what they're going to come up with something else that might be better that PageRank.
This space is for rent. PM me if you are interested. $5/month or 1000WM$ per month.

RE: Is google going to remove pagerank?
If google will implement some thing like Digg stuff on their search result, then that will be the start towards the death of google. The secret of Google is its simplicity. This step gives a complex search result. Then the visitors will diverge to the other search engines.

Interesting point of view, you've got there...
I guess I should start paying attention to the other search engines too, not just google.
I hope they won't remove it, though! That would be bad in my opinion...

You are rit. Google become so popular because of its simplicity. If google put some thing like digg with their search results, I'm sure that many of the visitors will switch to other fast search engines like Yahoo! or Ask.

RE: Is google going to remove pagerank?
Just my oppinion, but I severely doubt that Google will remove page rank. These systems are likely only additions that Google is trying. I personally think they are good ideas. Sorting by date will be GREAT for pages that are often updated.
Also, giving a thumbs up or down will get rid of a lot of those black hat sites that fool the search engines into ranking them higher. It will be a factor of giving the user what they want based on their search rather than just the site that is the best at SEO.
Innovation is never a bad thing, only what people use it for.

Google's team is very efficient and they updating their algorithms frequently. So don't worry about black hat sites. Google will find solution for that..
