RE: My First Chemo treatment
Dang, Mark. I didn't know you had Hodgkins. If you have written about it before on the board, I apologize for missing it.
Should your treatment require a stay-over at the hospital, I thought I would provide some helpful hospital tips for you.
1) Nurses can be hot; with enough drugs, so can some doctors.
2) Hospital food is designed to speed the patient's recovery; eat enough of it and you'll want out as soon as possible too.
3) If the patient in the bed next to you goes by the name of Big Bubba and asks if you want to see why he is called big bubba...just say 'no'.
4) Regardless what the staff says, I still say that there is nothing wrong with a wet mop race around the 3rd floor; though that second lap can be a little tricky.
5) Should you require a 'shave' and the person giving it to you starts playing 'this little piggy',...worry.
6) That little dance doctors do when you scream into their stethoscopes apparently indicates they didn't like it.
7) Should the remote on your hospital bed have fuctions like 'up', 'down', and 'release', don't press 'release'.
I'll leave it at that.

RE: My First Chemo treatment
Hi People ,
I know it was a long time since I last posted here ,lots has happenned since my first Chemo.
Just 3 weeks ago I finished my 9 cycle of chemo.
3 different types of chemo I have had.
Having a hard time through the last two cycles of very high dose of Methotrexate and Cytarabine to realy hit the cancer on the head this time.
2 days ago I had my 3rd PET scan to see the result of the strong chemo .
But now the waiting game continues .
I am waiting for the doctors to ring me to make an appointment to come in and discuss the result.
If all is good like the tumors have shrunk ,well then I go in and have the bone marrow transplant , that means another lethal dose of chemo and then they give me my good bloods cells back that we harvested allready waiting.
If the Tumors are still there and not shrunk enough well thats another story for next time.

RE: My First Chemo treatment
Well bad news from the last scan.
The cancer is still there 3 hot spots are there .
So now I see another specialist to have some radio therapy that should do the job we prey it does.
So I hope you guys dont mind me venting my life story here.
It make me feal good to get it out .

This will be a much harder battle then first started out.
Most battles can be won by staying possitive.
